This section explains the terms and conditions you are agreeing to when you use MBO Cinemas's Online Ticketing facility. Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By using the Online Ticketing facility, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. If you do not accept any of these terms and conditions, please discontinue your access of this online service immediately.

1. During the seat selection (online purchase), why can't I leave an empty seat in between?

Following MBO Cinemas' online booking policies, leaving 1 empty seat in between reserved seats is not allowed. You may however leave 2 seats empty between reserved seats.

2. What do I do if I didn't receive my booking confirmation?

Our booking confirmation email may take 20 minutes to deliver. Kindly check your email inbox again including junk/ spam mailbox.

Booking confirmation for Mobile App will be displayed after tickets purchased. You can view it again at Purchases tab under ‘Booking’ in the app itself.

If you did not receive the confirmation, kindly email us at customercare@mbocinemas.com with your full name, contact number, email address, cinema location, show time and amount charged.

3. What are the methods by which I can make an online booking?

You can purchase your tickets online at www.mbocinemas.com or simply download our mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

4. What are the essentials for collecting my ticket at the box office?

You will need to bring along the Booking Confirmation Number – This will have been sent to the email address you used to log in for tickets purchases.

For booking payment method via credit card, kindly bring along the credit card used to purchase for verification

For ticket purchase via mobile app, you may collect your tickets at the online ticketing counter or proceed to usher counter* to scan your QR code ticket for entry into cinema halls.

*Usher counters equipped with barcode scanners are available at selected MBO Cinemas

**For MBO locations without usher counter, you will need to collect your tickets at the Online Ticketing Counter

5. What are the charges for booking tickets online or using mobile app?

Prices on this website www.mbocinemas.com and MBO Cinemas Mobile App are excluding GST unless otherwise stated.

6. If i wish to purchase a couple seat for 2 persons, what quantity should i select during the booking process?

1.  Kindly select the couple seat during the Seat Selection process
2.  Select ‘1’ as the quantity in the next step
3.  If you purchase 2 couple seats (for 4 person) – kindly select 2 couple seat in seat selection process and select ‘2’ for the quantity

7. What is Happy Wednesday?

1.  ALLSTAR members get to purchase movie tickets at RM 9 each (excluding GST) on every Wednesday either online or over-the-counter at any MBO Cinemas.
2.  ALLSTAR members get to enjoy 2x (double) points with every purchase of movie tickets or concession items on Wednesday.
3.  Happy Wednesday promotion is valid for Standard 2D, Standard 3D only. Happy Wednesday is not valid for Premier Actuator Halls, Premier Halls, Premier Auro Halls, BIG SCREEN, MX4D & KECIL
4.  Happy Wednesday is not valid for any Sneak Movies, and on any State, National, Public or Special Holidays (including Chinese New Year & Hari Raya week).
5.  ALLSTAR members are however still entitled to earn 2x (double) points on every Wednesday regardless of point No.4
6.  2x Points only applicable for purchases made on Wednesday for Wednesday only. It’s not applicable for Wednesday sessions purchased on a Non-Wednesday.
7.  Happy Wednesday are not applicable with any ongoing promotion or discount that are available.
8.  ALLSTAR members are required to show or produce their ALLSTAR card the counter, or log in at www.mbocinemas.com to purchase movie session on Wednesday in order to entitled the 2x points.

8. Student Price Terms & Conditions:

1.  Student price is applicable on weekdays for movie show times before 6PM ONLY and for all movies at a price of RM9 (excluding GST).
2.  Student are required to purchase the movies tickets over-the-counter at the cinema to get the student price.
3.  All students are required to present a valid student ID / MyKad as verification before purchasing movie tickets with student price.
4.  Students below 18 years of age are required to present MyKad as verification before purchasing movie tickets with student price.
5.  The cinema management reserves the right to refuse sale of student price if above verification is not met or deem invalid.
6.  Student price is not applicable on any State, National, Public or Special Holidays (including Chinese New Year & Hari Raya week)

9. Terms and Conditions for KECIL at MBO the Starling

KECIL is the 1st dedicated movie hall for children. It is a concept of fun and entertainment for children created by MBO Cinemas. In here, their imagination may run free!

KECIL consists of movies that are suitable for minors with the rating U or PG-13 as per LPF Malaysia guidelines.

1.  KECIL tickets can be purchased via walk-in, MBO Cinemas mobile app and MBO Cinemas website for the all available locations.
2.  KECIL sofa bed is for maximum of 2 adults and 2 children (with the maximum height of 100cm)
3.  KECIL Bean is for 1 child (with the maximum height of 100cm) or 1 child up to 12 years old.
4.  Children may play at the playground during the movie. However, adult supervision is needed.
5.  Adult that are accompanying children in KECIL are not allowed to use the playground as they are built for the children only.
6.  indiscipline, harmful and offensive conduct is prohibited. It is recommended not to use high-sounding words, inappropriate language or signals.
7.  Valid only for selected titles and selected show time.
8.  Admission of Adults without Kids is prohibited
9.  The Management & Staff of MBO Cinemas reserve the right to refuse admission to any person failing to comply with the terms and conditions
10.  MBO Cinemas is not responsible for any accident or injury to the patrons & damage or loss of their belongings
11.  All ticket discounts, advertiser or complimentary passes & movie access vouchers are not applicable for the KECIL session
12.  MBO Cinemas reserves the right to change the terms & conditions for the KECIL sessions without prior notice

10. Terms and Conditions for MX4D at MBO the Starling

Welcome to the MX4D® Motion EFX Experience, where you will be immersed into the on-screen action like never before. Please be advised of the following regarding this experiences that you are about to enjoy:

1.  Throughout the movie your seat will move with the action on screen
2.  Please remain seated with your feet on top of the footrest during the entire movie
3.  If you need to get in or out of your seat, please exercise caution and care as your seat and the seats around you may be moving
4.  You must be at least 40” tall and be able to sit and support yourself to enjoy this experience
5.  Please only 1 person per seat, no lap sitting allowed
6.  This experience may not be appropriate for people who may be pregnant, have heart, back, head, leg or neck conditions, or other physical limitations, or those that may have reactions to scents, fog, or strobe lightning effects.

3. Is my membership card transferable?

Sorry, your membership card is strictly non-transferable. 

4. Am I able to hold more than one membership card?

1.  Each member are allowed to have multiple ALLSTAR card designs.
2.  But ONLY one ALLSTAR card are allowed to be active at for StarPoints collection.
3.  Each membership card is uniquely tagged to your account and identity

5. Will my membership expire? 

Your membership will not expire.
However, Star Points remain valid and can be used for a period of up to 24 months after the date they were earned.  Star Points earned more than 24 months previously will automatically expire.

6. I have registered my ALLSTAR member card at the cinema, Do I still need to register my account online?

1.  We would love you to do so, in order for you to have a full ALLSTAR experience.

7. I have registered my ALLSTAR member card at the cinema, how to register my account online?

1.  To create an ALLSTAR online account, kindly click here : http://www.mbocinemas.com/CreateUserID.aspx
2.  Enter all the required details in the form. Please note that it must be the same as you had provided when your registered at the cinema.
3.  If your existing ALLSTAR account can be validated, your online account will be activated.
4.  You can log in with your email address (as your user ID) to access your account.
5.  If the email address entered does not match that on your original registration. You will not be able to create an online account

8. How do I update my new Mobile Number?

Simply log on to STARCLUB in MBO webpage and click 'Edit Detail' to update your new Mobile Number.

9. How do I change my password in my online account?

Simply log on to STARCLUB in MBO webpage and click 'Edit Detail' to update your password.

10. How do I update my new email address?

Simply inform us by emailing us from the original email address registered in order for us to verify the autheticity of the account & furnish us the following details : Name,mobile number, I.C no. or passport no & ALLSTAR membership number. Kindly email to customercare@mbocinemas.com.

11. I lost my ALLSTAR card, what should I do?

You'll need to walk into any MBO cinema & inform the cinema crew & provide your details (eg. Name, Email address, contact number & Identdity Card no. or Passport no). You'll also need to present your IC to the cinema crew for cross-checking purposes. Please be informed that a replacement card fee of RM 2.00 will be charged.

12. How to collect StarPoints?

You will earn 10 StarPoints immediately with every Ringgit spent (RM1 spent = 10 points) when you purchase movie tickets at MBO website, or at any MBO cinemas on movie ticket(s) / concessions/ merchandises.

13. How do I check my StarPoints?

You can either check your StarPoints at any MBO cinemas or at MBO cinema webpage by logging on as a member. To check your StarPoints online, you'll have to create an online account once you have signed up the ALLSTAR card at any MBO cinema.

14. Do I still earn StarPoints on the RM 1 booking fee if I purchase movie tickets online?

From April 2014 onwards, the RM 1 booking fee is waived off.

15. What happens if I forgot to bring along my ALLSTAR card to MBO Cinema to purchase movie tickets?

Effective from 1st January 2017, ALLSTAR members need to swipe ALLSTAR card for all Points Earning / Redemption transactions at all MBO Cinemas.

In case of system offline, you will be required to fill up a form for StarPoints reimbursement. Points redemption will also be disabled.

Online purchase is not affected by this in any way as your log in account is an ALLSTAR account. You will definitely earn StarPoints when purchasing online.

16. What can I redeem with my StarPoints?

20. How to redeem my Birthday Complimentary tickets?

Every year, each ALLSTAR members are entitled to 2 FREE* movie tickets during his/her birthday month. The FREE* birthday movie tickets can only redeemed at the Box Office Counter at any MBO Cinemas near you.

Example: If your birthday falls on 30th September 2017, you may redeem your FREE birthday movie tickets on any day*** within the month of September of that particular year.

Remember to present your ALLSTAR card to the cinema crew and they will assist you on the redemption.

23. What is PIN number ?

PIN number is a set of 6-digit numerical numbers which you keyed in during redemption of movie tickets/ concessions at the cinema counter.
You should already have this 6-digit number if you have registered your membership at any MBO cinema or during collection of ALLSTAR card after you have signed up online.
We advise you to safeguard your 6-digit PIN number & to change the 6-digit PIN number periodically for security purposes.

24. What is online login password ?

Online login password is the password that enables you to log on to www.mbocinemas.com or sign in to MBO Cinemas Mobile App to purchase movie tickets or check on StarPoints balances.

  • participate in any of MBO Cinemas surveys, polls or other similar vehicles used to improve the content of MBO Cinemas website, MBO Cinemas Mobile App, MBO Cinemas social pages;
  • Enter or participate in any ALLSTAR Exclusive competitions, contests, programmes, or screening organized by MBO Cinemas in any platforms that MBO Cinemas owned.
  • Enter or participate in any Non-ALLSTAR Exclusive competitions, contests, programmes, or screening organised by MBO Cinemas in any platforms that MBO Cinemas owned.
  • Respond to any marketing materials including electronic direct mailer or SMS that MBO Cinemas sends out including social media posts in any social platform and digital advertising on social media pages, Google Search, YouTube or any other platforms that MBO Cinemas engage.
  • visit or browse MBO Cinemas website, MBO Cinemas mobile app and any other MBO Cinemas owned social platforms;

4. Your rights of access and correction

You have the following rights in relation to your Personal Data:-

  • To make a data request in writing to MBO Cinemas for information of your personal data that is being processed by or on behalf of MBO Cinemas (Section 30(2) of PDPA);
  • To correct any of your personal data which is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or not upto-date at any time on MBO Cinemas website by clicking on Edit Profile button in Starclub Dashboard page after logging into MBO Cinemas’s website; and
  • To limit the processing of your personal data including the personal data relating to other persons who may be identified from your personal data (Section 7(1)(f) of PDPA).
  • To unsubscribe to our marketing materials and/or correspondence by clicking the unsubscribe link contained in the emails and/or newsletters MBO Cinemas sends to you and following the instructions therein

5. Class of third parties to whom MBO Cinemas may disclose your personal data

This is the class of persons to whom MBO Cinemas may disclose your personal data:- Service provider(s) for:-

  • the management of communications on MBO Cinemas behalf;

It is obligatory for you to supply MBO Cinemas with your personal data and your failure to do so will result in MBO Cinemas being unable to process your personal data for any of the Purposes. 7. Security of your personal data

MBO Cinemas, when processing your personal data, takes practical steps to protect your personal data from any loss, misuse, modification, unauthorized or accidental access or disclosure, alteration or destruction including but not limited to the use of procedural and technical safeguards such as encryption, "firewalls" and secure socket layers.

8. Amendment to this Privacy Policy

MBO Cinemas reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice at any time by posting an amended Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice containing such amendments on MBO Cinemas website/MBO Cinemas Mobile App or by any other mode MBO Cinemas deems suitable.

9. Links to third party websites

When you use a link from MBO Cinemas website or MBO Cinemas Mobile App to another third party website, this Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Once you have used such link, MBO Cinemas does not have any control over that other third party website and MBO Cinemas cannot and shall not be liable or responsible for the protection and privacy of any personal data which you provided whilst visiting such website(s). Your browsing of and interaction on any other third party website(s) will be subject to that websites’ own rules and policies.
